Construction of the first buildings for the 46-acre master-planned Park Lane development in Reno is expected to begin early next year.
The Park Lane site — which has undergone site preparation and backbone infrastructure construction for the last 18 months — is ready to be staged for building construction, according to developer Reno Land Inc. The groundbreaking for building construction is expected to kick off in early 2019 with Reno Land eyeing a mid-2020 date for initial deliveries.
Park Lane’s first phase will include four residential buildings, the Village Park, landscaping and renovations to the nearby Century Park Lane movie theater.
The Reno Gazette Journal first reported on Park Lane’s first phase, including plans for a residential complex named “Avant,” back in April. At the time, Reno Land was working on the site’s preliminary infrastructure, which included the replacement of its aging sewer lines. The developer received a $3.5 million subsidy from the city of Reno to work on the 50-year-old infrastructure, which will be reimbursed to Reno Land over two years.
Construction of the residential buildings will be done by Neeser Construction and Whiting-Turner.
Neeser will construct a 280-unit, five-story residential building for Park Lane, which will include 8,700 square feet of in-line retail. The building will include a parking garage that is concealed from the main street to create a more walkable and bike-friendly community, according to Reno Land.
Whiting-Turner will construct three other residential buildings with 313 units. The buildings will include such amenities as pools, lobbies and fitness and gathering areas.
Once completed, the Park Lane development will include 1,700 residential units, about 50,000 square feet of retail space, a one-acre park, a 160-room hotel and a food hall that includes a grab-and-go farmers’ market.
Park Lane is one of several developments in Reno Land’s portfolio, which include Rancharrah, the Summit Club apartments and Meridian 120.
